I still like using a percolator as they make superior coffee but next time, I'll invest the $$$ for a good one!

(More customer reviews)Beginning with the Coffee Team Plus, Capresso introduced the concept of a water filter in the water tank of their automatic coffee makers. If you use tap water, the filter is a wonderful idea. It removes impurities and chlorine before the water is heated. Clean water and a clean coffee maker = great coffee.
The manufacturer's recommendation is to change filters every 6 weeks or 60 pots of coffee. I usually change them every two months, or so. I imagine the effectiveness of the filter may depend on the quality of the water you use. I haven't had a problem yet.
Usage tip: Each filter is individually wrapped in plastic to keep it fresh until opened. When you open a filter, first soak it in cold water for about 15 minutes. Then rinse it under running water for another minute or two until the water dripping from the filter is clear. If you still see black particles dripping from the filter, run a pot of water through the coffee maker, with the new filter inserted, without coffee beans and discard the water afterward, or use the water for plants (when it is cooled, of course.)

(More customer reviews)I've only had this product for 2 weeks now so can't comment on it's reliability as a refub., but I have used it at least twice a day without issue.Needed a new espresso machine since my old KRUPS pump machine finally gave out after about five years. It's definitely a beautiful looking machine and if you follow the directions about heating and priming, you will make yourself a very good cup of espresso!It is solidly built with some heft to it and the pump system puts out good pressure for pulls and frothing.The heating plate on top does take awhile to heat up and warm cups, but it does finally get very warm.Also on this older model the frothing wand does not swivel front and back like the newer model, but I have no problems with it being stationary as it is.Alas this refurb. does not come with the stainless cup and saucer pair as described (hence 1 less star), but the great price more than makes up for it.I'm totally satisfied with this product so far....

(More customer reviews)The previous reviewer is correct about the "sediment" from the filter.Typically gold filters allow the oils and other properties of the ground bean to pass though, instead of being stuck in the paper filter.This gives a darker richer coffee.It also means you have a small "shot" of more dense coffee at the end of your cup.You can either drink it or not, some people really like the taste of the gold filter, others are used to the paper and don't like it at all.I guess it's just a matter of taste.

(More customer reviews)The Bunn Coffee Brewer makes great coffee, but there is design feature that may appeal to many. The water pours into the front of the brewer.
With most counter top coffee makers, the water must be poured into the back of the machine. This means the coffee maker must be pulled away from the overhead cabinets in order to access the water reservoir.With the Bunn, I never have to move the machine and I can keep it pushed back on the counter top.
The brewing time is so short that you don't need a programmable timer. From the time I pour the water in until I am enjoying my first cup is only a little over 3 minutes.
I should have bought this a long time ago.

(More customer reviews)Too bad I bought the Mr. Coffee four cup machine before this one. That one tasted like plastic no matter what I did. This gizmo is cheap, brews at 180 degrees, (I tested it) and that's the temperature recommended by the coffee experts. Anything hotter than that cooks the coffee and it has a burnt taste. I drink my java black with no sweetener, so I'm fussy about that burnt taste. This makes a great cup of coffee. No burnt taste, no plastic taste, is convenient to use and easy to clean. VERY good at this price point.

(More customer reviews)This is a replacement for my old Cuisinart coffee maker which I had for about six years or so (the predecessor to this model). I loved my old one even with some of the little quirks it had. It beat out any Braun or Krupp pot which I had ever owned. This new updated model is a winner. All of the small annoyances have been solved, such as the small fill tank opening, the dripping cover that leaked back into the fill tank, and finally, thank you Cuisinart people, a water level guide on the outside of the unit. The front knobs on the front are now also easier to see and use. As my other Cuisinart did, it brews superior coffee and quickly. I find it takes about one minute per cup... 12 minutes for twelve cups, not bad at all. Yes, the unit does make some clicking and popping noises when it is new, so did my old one. But that goes away in time as the unit gets "broken in". I do not think you can find a better coffee maker on the market.
