(More customer reviews)I have owned both old and new versions of the Bunn home coffee machine.I have gone through 3 of the home brewers in an office environment where they work 24 hrs. a day and are never subject to deliming or other maintenance .. other than normal washing.

At home I've owned Bunn home coffee machines for the last 20 years; I'm on my 5th one.Forget the Mr. Coffee and those digital-timer wonders that are ok, but just don't work that well.

I have noticed quality control issues with the newer models that are a little disturbing .. I don't like the straight design of the new coffee decanter ... the old onion-dome classic is what I really liked because the decanter just worked better .. balance with a full pot in hand, no spilling or sloushing problems .. and yes, it goes naturally back where it is supposed to go .. wish Bunn would get this right again and just give us the retro-classic machine!

Secondly, my older machines all lasted longer than the newer models .. which have problems with the lighted switch sometimes going out .. and the older machine was just better built .. even the switches (a very simple design) was superior to the cheap switches they now use .. and replacement is expensive for what you get.

Nothwithstanding these problems the Bunn home brewer makes excellent coffee and does it fast .. wish they'd get control of the quality issues and make replacement parts less expensive .. I recently lost that little sprayhead .. probably a 30 cent part that costs you $7 for shipping alone, c'mon Bunn .. as much as these machines go for new .. you should just give these away.

PS: the old decanter was much better .. I don't like the new decanter and don't care that it is made from Schott glass .. it feels too thin; and more importantly the styling is terrible.
